Men's Adult Formation Group
The Catholic religion is amazing in its beauty, history, and depth of truth. The Men's group at Holy Rosary meets on Saturday mornings to engage in rich discussions about our Catholic faith. One of the challenges for Catholics is that we haven't been exposed to the breadth and depth for various reasons, the length of instruction and formation not being the least of them. This has been a challenge for our Men's group as well as most adults striving to live a faithful life. We now have at hand a plethora of programs designed to fill this void, so that we can gain back what has alluded us for so long. A large part of this effort will be the reintroduction of a program called FORMED. This program will allow parishioners to view, read and listen to great programs 24/7. This means we can now commit a period of time that fits our personal schedule, from there we can form groups for discussion, for in the discourse is where we gain the most insight. For Lent we are offering Bishop Barron's study program about "The Mass", check the bulletin for more information or contact: Lou Casale @ (914) 494-4837.
Scouts
Scouting is reverent. Our program has religion as a principal point and it is encouraged. The troop participates in the Armed Forces Mass at Holy Rosary Church and an annual Scout Sabbath Mass at Holy Rosary each February.
As a Scouting Unit we volunteer (charitable deeds) in our community for many events throughout the year. Some examples include the American Legion Post(s), Memorial Day Parade, Veterans Day Ceremony, 911 Remembrance, Independence Day Bell Ringing, leaf raking for elderly residents, litter clean up, water shed involvement, and numerous Eagle Scout projects that benefit many different organizations throughout our Mt. Pleasant community.
Holy Rosary is the charter organization of Mount Pleasant Troop 125 which is one of the first all-female troops within Scouts BSA. Troop 125 is looking forward to partnering with Hawthorne Troop One, an all-male troop, in continuing a variety of community service projects.
